It all begins..
One of our favorite things at Mighty Fun! is dreaming up new Mischief Maker Slingshot designs; choosing shapes, picking colors, and exploring new themes. In 2022, we grabbed the board shorts and sunnies and hit the beach. Surfing is more than just a sport or a way to pass the time. To surf is to express yourself in movement; to be free with style. The all new Surf’s Up Mischief Maker Slingshot embraces the vibe with a little mischief thrown in.
Surf Culture = Good Vibes
There’s nothing but good vibes that resonate from the surfing community. Their deep respect and gratitude for the sport, land, and ocean are inspiring. Plus, they have the coolest lingo that makes everyone feel like they’re a part of the family. Surfing is life; the rest is details. Right, bro?
Slingshot Shape & Color Palette
A fishtail-shaped surfboard inspired the handle. It fits really well in the hand and the fishtail is a great finishing detail. Rip curl arms at the top give a nod to the great barrel waves that the real pros ride. Next, dreamy beach colors were chosen and the slingshots were named: Blue Stoke, Green Breeze, Orange Dawn and Yellow Swell.
They Have To Have A Shaka 🤙
A no-brainer. We all need to shaka more so we put one in the Mischief Maker logo. In case you’re new to what a shaka means, here’s a quick definition from Wikipedia: “The shaka sign, sometimes known as "hang loose", is a gesture of friendly intent often associated with Hawaii and surf culture.”
The Surf’s Up Family Go To Hawaii
The opportunity presented itself when the final prototypes arrived right before we were taking a MF! family trip to the island of Kauai, Hawaii. We were able to take a few pictures of the Surf’s Up Slingshots with the breathtaking ocean and natural beauty of Kauai in the background. We were beyond grateful to be there. 🙏
